"Pop up 2018" is probably the most exciting private sector development initiative in Adams in the last 50 years. The goal is to bring to fruition in 2018 as much as $4 Million of economic development in Downtown Adams.
Today there is the potential for eleven new businesses and arts related developments in Downtown Adams. With 44 vacant stores downtown there is an opportunity for numerous local retail business incubators, help make someone's dream come to fruition and promote retail growth in 2018.
The aim is simple - multiple stores, opening all at once, for a initially short period, filling vacant storefronts and removing several entry barriers for small businesses.
How do I start a pop-up store?
Current Retail Vacancies
There are currently 44 stores potentially available with a rental range of between $3 and $7 per square feet. Rent is dependent on the individual landlord but the rent would be approximately $150 to $1,500 per month depending on the space.

What is a pop-up?
A temporary store or shop, open for initially three months, which sells merchandise or food. Pop-ups create short-term stores and/or restaurants that utilize vacant property or serve a temporary need/use.

Select locations as are being considered for a Pop Up Sidewalk, A platform is installed at the side of the road takinng over one to two parking spaces. By extending the sidewalk, a pedestrian friendly environment is created for a variety of uses such as.
Extend your business through the spring, summer and fall with an exterior area dedicated to outdoor seating or additional retail space.
As part of the downtown Revitalization plan, some of the spots may be used for pop up art or a pop up park.
