Historic Downtown Adams
Downtown Adams is a well preserved Victorian walkable urban masterpiece. Click on the pictures to find out more information on the history of downtown Adams.
The main street (Park St.) is the same as it was in 1901. Preserved and maintained, with all but one of the buildings (the 1949 Miss Adams Diner), dating from the Victorian Period. The Summer Street Historical District dating from the mid 18th Century through to the 19th century is also part of downtown Adams. In total 9 of Adams' 12 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places are located downtown. For more details go to the Adams Historical Society web site. |
