Description of Downtown
Downtown Adams consists of a 1.3 mile walkable loop of Park, Hoosac, Summer and Center Streets containing some of the best preserved historical architecture in New England. In the downtown area there is an exhibit space, 2 Museums, 2 Art Centers, 2 Art Galleries, 3 Dance Studios, 3 Boutique Hotels, 9 Buildings on the Historic Register, over 15 restaurants, and numerous attractions and shops. Within this walking loop the 11 mile Ashuwillticook Rail Trail and Hoosac River passes through, there are five parks and the new Adams Station serves as the terminus for the Hoosac Valley Scenic Railway that runs on weekend to North Adams.
